I took my daughter to Dockside Kingston for lunch to celebrate her birthday today. I’ve only dined here once before and whilst there are a number of great eateries in Kingston, I was keen to try out their menu again.
About Dockside Kingston
Dockside Kingston is a fully licensed restaurant bar situated on the Kingston Foreshore. It features fresh breakfast/lunch and dinner menus with dietary options clearly specified.
It’s open 7 days for breakfast and lunch 7am – 3pm (kitchen close 2.30pm) and for dinner Sunday to Thursday 5pm – 9pm, Friday and Saturday 5pm – 10pm.
My experience dining at Dockside Kingston
Today, I ordered via their app, chose a meal that stated on the menu was gluten free, only to find out when questioning one of the waitstaff that a component of the meal was actually cooked in a fryer with gluten-filled products. I noticed later that their menu does clearly state to talk to staff about dietary requirements which I had failed to do before ordering.
The swap to a gluten free meal was easy however and the staff took care of this without a fuss.
My meal, a cheesy truffle sandwich, was freshly made, generous in portion size and absolutely delicious. The bun was soft on the inside and held together beautifully.
